WASTE NETHERLAND

  • Sludge Treatment Plant (STP) at Musiri: Musiri got another feather to its cap in the sanitation aspect, in the form of its sludge treatment plant. It was commissioned on 15-06-2010 in the presence of elected leaders and government officials of Musiri. The plant was constructed with the financial assistance from the international organization, WASTE, Netherlands and District Rural Development agency of Trichy District and was constructed by SCOPE.
  • The first Ecosan Community Composting Toilet (ECCT) in the country, constructed with assistance from WASTE Netherlands was commissioned in April 2006. Of the 14 compost chambers, the first compost chamber was closed on 30-01-2008. The same was opened by Mr. Valentine Post, Regional Officer, WASTE, Netherlands on 21st June 2009 in the presence of Mrs. Visalakshi Natarajan, Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture, Government of India, (Government schemes) Mr. V.C. Sudhakar, President, MSTP, Mr. D. Subramanian, Executive Officer, MSTP and Mr. M. Subburaman, Director, SCOPE.
  • WASTE Netherlands: Promotion of ecological sanitation, community compost toilet, solid waste management, school health programme from 2004 to 2014.
